May 31, 2018: CAMBA Small Business Services Inaugural Event Celebrating Brooklyn Entrepreneurship

CAMBA Small Business Services (SBS) will be toasting the growth of the borough’s local businesses at this inaugural event. The evening will highlight the accomplishments of Brooklyn entrepreneurs who have advanced their businesses with the support of CAMBA and other Brooklyn, small business service providers including Business Outreach Center, Brooklyn Public Library, Restoration Plaza, Center for Family Life and the East New York Local Development Corporation.

Each Brooklyn small business service provider has selected and will acknowledge an Entrepreneur of the Year during the awards ceremony. An additional Worker-owned Cooperative of the Year will be awarded.

CAMBA Small Business Services:

CAMBA Small Business Services provides services to immigrant, low-income, and minority and women entrepreneurs across New York City. In 2017, 95 percent of our clients were minority, women and/or immigrant entrepreneurs. Our one-stop shop offers three major services: small business workshops that help business owners learn tools and technologies to increase sales; one-on-one tailored training; and small business loans up to $15,000 with a focus on start-ups. Other achievements from 2017 include:

  • Received the 2017 Award for Excellence from the NYS Entrepreneurial Assistance Program
  • Assisted over 500 individual aspiring/existing entrepreneurs in NYC
  • Helped start 27 small business in New York City
  • Helped businesses retain/create 36 jobs in New York City
